Learning Innovations and Academic Development (LIAD)
is a service and academic department at George Brown College. We offer a variety of blended and fully online programs and courses as well as general education electives. In our service role, we foster and support faculty use of educational technologies to enhance and enrich learning and teaching at GBC. Whether you need to be set up in Blackboard, create a web page, design and conduct online surveys, or learn to use threaded discussions or chats, LIAD is here to help you use e-tools to help students learn.
George Brown College maintains a robust technical infrastructure to accommodate the rapid expansion of e-learning. LIAD works closely with our Information Technology partners to provide strength, scope, and stability for WebCT/Blackboard. As part of our Academic Development mandate, LIAD fosters internal human resource capacity, both within LIAD itself and across the broader college community.
